JOB TITLE: cleaner/custodian

LOCATION:  189 Upton Road, Unit 1

Responsible to Property Representative of Church Council: Any issues, concerns, or comments should be brought to the attention of __________________________________

DUTIES

  1. Clean sanctuary (alter, pews) and narthex for all services and for additional use of these areas for other events such as weddings, funerals, etc. As well clean floors and vacuum carpet in these areas weekly.

  2. Clean, sanitize and keep 3 washrooms stocked with supplies for Sunday worship and/or other events.

  3. Clean narthex kitchenette weekly and empty dish washer.

  4. Empty Office garbage and recycle weekly and Vacuum office floor once monthly.

  5. Clean 2 sets of stairs and landings

  6. Sweep Luther Hall downstairs weekly and mop as needed. Wipe tables if set up for weekly use. Clean downstairs kitchen if used for an event.

  7. Keep all mops fresh and maintain cleaning cupboards.

  8. Order all needed cleaning supplies and kitchenette needs such as dish soap and dishwasher soap through office Administrator, Mary MacKay. Zion_lutheran@outlook.com  705 253 7903 on Wednesdays

  9. Maintain all storage areas upstairs and downstairs with regular checks. Report any leaks, or mice immediately to property committee representative. ____________________________________

  10. Remove garbage and recycle and put out for weekly pick-up.

  11. Carpet cleaning (steam or shampoo) twice yearly or as required. Church will pay rental equipment and cleaning supply.

  12. Clean windows as required.

  13. Take on additional duties in consultation with The Property Representative of Church Council such as light bulb replacement, toilet figures, etc.

  14. Receive regular updates on building use from church office as events are booked.

Terms:

Full/part time. Approx. 32 -34 hours a month. 4-month probationary period

Salary/rate:

$725 per month, - a flat rate - no deductions.  Yearly receipt given.

Requirements:

Available to meet the cleaning needs of events at the church including occasional wedding, funerals, memorials as well as regular Sunday worship.

 

Provide for absences with a person approved by the Property Committee. The cleaner will pay their fill-in not the church.
