OUR SUPPORT FOR EMERGENCY SHELTER: Our Manna Basket needs replenishing with donations of food and household supplies for the local shelter for youth and families, Lotus House. Friday, November 6th 9:30 to noon: The Sewing Room@Zion needs volunteers for one of their Christmas Cheer projects. They have 60 pillow cases with an opening in the bottom to stuff for reading pillows for Christmas cheer gifting. People can sit at the tables at the back of the Sanctuary to do the work on the main floor.
MITTEN TREE for CHRISTMAS CHEER BEGINS IN NOVEMBER: The mitten tree for Christmas Cheer will be up beginning in November. For any knitters who would like to make handmade mittens, there is a supply of yarn available from Pat in the sewing room on Friday morning. Thank you to Morgan for coordinating this ministry that was so important to her late Grandma Fern.

THE SEWING ROOM@ ZION: Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon the basement room welcomes community participants. The menu page "what we do" highlight the sewing and its endeavours. Contact co-ordinator, Pat Mathews 705 945 8741 to receive latest news of projects and possible weather cancellations during winter months. Focus this Fall is on little girl's dresses and little boys pants for the Shoebox Program and various items including Reading Pillows, crayon caddies, and fleece tied blankets for the teenagers through our cities the Christmas Cheer Program..
CHOIR REHEARSALS: The Choir practices Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to lead music at 10 a.m. worship. A call to the office or Pastor Brad will connect you to our Ministry of Music Director, Karen Kettles for details. Karen welcomes those that would like to make a shorter commitment for anthems that will enhance worship on special Sundays.

Our Manna Basket in the narthex accepts donations of food and household supplies to be delivered about every 6 weeks to Lotus House. It provides emergency short-term housing for youth, women, and families who are experiencing a housing crisis. It addresses homelessness for Youth (male ages 16-17, female ages 16-21), women, and families by providing temporary emergency shelter and necessities such as food, clothing, and hygiene products. It began as Pauline's Place as youth shelter so named after Pauline Wilson.
Harvest Algoma Support: After Worship Fellowship celebrates birthdays of month on the second last Sunday of each month after 11 a.m. worship. Please consider staying to get to know us. As a way of thank you for refreshments, a donation is appreciated for Harvest Algoma. Place gift in the colourful mission projects’ box in front of the kitchenette window in the narthex.
Algoma Angels: Zion contributes to the hot meal program at St. Vincent Place. The Angels is a ministry of the Anglican churches in the deanery of Algoma. Additional Angels from Zion contribution to the meal is the dessert: cookies, squares, cupcakes. We normally need around 150 to 200 individually wrapped dessert items. Please speak to Pastor Brad if you would like to contribute when it is our turn again.
