Pastor Brad and his family will again be hosting campfire communion worship and fellowship at the rectory this summer. You are invited to an evening of worship around the campfire and some campfire treats. All you will need is a blanket or a chair to sit on. If you'd like to share in musical leadership arrive at 6 p.m. for run through. Our special guests will be Archbishop Anne on July 15th and Rev. Holly in August and September.
A THOUSAND VOICES AT THE CROSS - AUGUST 22 AT 6 P.M.: This year’s event will happen on A Saturday. All are welcome to join in a time of worship at the Cross near St. Basil’s on St. George’s Avenue East. You will need to bring your lawn chair.

ST. VINCENT PLACE DINNER DESSERTS - SEPTEMBER 23: Our next St. Vincent Place dinner as part of the Algoma Angels is Wednesday, September 23. Zion contributes through dessert items. We will need approximately 13-14 dozen individually wrapped cookies, brownies or squares. Please contact Pastor Brad if you can assist in this ministry.
WEDNESDAYS - Finnish Coffee Bread and Cinnamon Buns: Sold from office * 9 -12: Pulla and cinnamon buns are available for $12. * ALSO SUNDAY AFTER WORSHIP.
FOOD INSECURITY: The colourful house/box near kitchenette window is there for donations during coffee time following worship and birthday Sundays -A good way to lighten your load of toonies and loonies and show appreciations for refreshments. All monies collected go to Harvest Algoma here in Sault Ste. Marie. EMERGENCY SHELTER: Our Manna Basket needs replenishing with donations of food and household supplies for the local shelter for youth and families, Lotus House. There is a plan to make another delivery by the end of June. Look for a July food pantry challenge when we worship with our Emmaus Anglican friends. WEEKLY & MONTHLY HAPPENINGS 2026
Weekly or monthly groups at Zion have a special gathering in June and then take a summer break for July and August. Below are details of activities and how you can make contact over the summer to learn more to join in September when they are back on Calendar.
LUTHERAN CHURCH WOMEN: Consider joining the LCW for a time of fellowship, devotions, and sharing in the accessible narthex. Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1:30. Contact Gloria Lang at 705 254-1247 for more information and especially about December meeting as they are going out for lunch.
THE SEWING ROOM@ ZION: Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon the basement room welcomes community participants. The menu page "what we do" highlight the sewing and its endeavours. Contact co-ordinator, Pat Mathews 705 945 8741 to receive latest news of projects and possible weather cancellations during winter months.
CHOIR REHEARSALS: The Choir practices Thursday at 7p.m. to lead music at 10 a.m. worship. More voices welcome! A call to the office or Pastor Brad will connect you to our Ministry of Music Director, Karen Kettles for details. Karen welcomes those that would like to make a shorter commitment for anthems that will enhance worship on special Sundays.
PRAYER: Prayer support is available from prayer chains, and from the congregation during worship services. Requests for prayers may be made by calling the office at 705 253-8703 or Pastor Brad at 705 987 5041.
Our Manna Basket in the narthex accepts donations of food and household supplies to be delivered about every 6 weeks to Lotus House. It provides emergency short-term housing for youth, women, and families who are experiencing a housing crisis. It addresses homelessness for Youth (male ages 16-17, female ages 16-21), women, and families by providing temporary emergency shelter and necessities such as food, clothing, and hygiene products. It began as Pauline's Place as youth shelter so named after Pauline Wilson.
Harvest Algoma Support: After Worship Fellowship celebrates birthdays of month on the second last Sunday of each month after 11 a.m. worship. Please consider staying to get to know us. As a way of thank you for refreshments, a donation is appreciated for Harvest Algoma. Place gift in the colourful mission projects’ box in front of the kitchenette window in the narthex.
Algoma Angels: Zion contributes to the hot meal program at St. Vincent Place. The Angels is a ministry of the Anglican churches in the deanery of Algoma. Additional Angels from Zion contribution to the meal is the dessert: cookies, squares, cupcakes. We normally need around 150 to 200 individually wrapped dessert items. Please speak to Pastor Brad if you would like to contribute when it is our turn again.
ALONG SIDE HOPE - WILD RIDE - SUNDAY AUGUST 23 BEGINNING AT 3 P.M. Zion is joining with The Anglican Algoma Deanery as they support a special cause. In partnership with the Diocese of Jerusalem, Alongside Hope is providing solar panels for St. Luke’s Hospital in Nablus, the West Bank - The Wild Ride is setting the ambitious goal of raising $60,000 to fund 70 of these solar panels. One panel costs $865 which includes installation, maintenance and other costs. every gift will be matched dollar for dollar. Your impact instantly doubles. Our 70 panels will turn into 140.
